FAQs - Virtual Meetings

Who can attend?

Individuals who are diagnosed with any bleeding disorder are welcome and encouraged to join us along with his/her caregivers and immediate family members.

Because the virtual platform lacks many cost-prohibitive factors that a live program often entails, participants residing outside of the U.S. are also welcome to join us. We cannot guarantee free shipping of collaterals, brochures, giveaways, or any other items regularly provided for the conference to non-U.S. residents.

What is the format?

All sessions will be provided virtually via the Zoom platform enabling participants to communicate, watch, and listen remotely from their home, office, or other personal space of their choice with the use of a smart phone, tablet, or computer.

What do I need to participate?

This program is maintaining a virtual format using the Zoom platform. Participants can connect using the equipment described below as well as the downloadable app, called Zoom. If you prefer not to download the app, connectivity is also available through a web browser on https://Zoom.us.

Participants should have equipment to meet the technological needs of the program, such as a viewing device (like a desktop computer, laptop, WiFi enabled tablet, or a smartphone-not recommended), a microphone and camera (if your viewing device is not equipped with one), and an internet connection with minimal speeds of 1.5 Mbps (both up and down.) There are multiple free websites to check your internet speed. One example is SpeedTest.net.

How much does it cost to attend?

This program is entirely free for virtual meetings. You should not feel pressured, but donations are greatly appreciated. Funding is drastically changing for programming, so if you are willing and able, any donated amount would be set aside to help preserve the future of this program.

Attendees outside of the U.S. may be subject to long-distance phone charges if they choose to dial-in by phone rather than connect via internet connection through the Zoom platform.

What about patient confidentiality?

Information that you share or hear will be treated with the utmost respect and never disclosed without your permission. We want participants to feel comfortable so that we may support one another. These sessions are industry-free!

How is programming funded?

We compete rigorously for grants provided by manufacturers to support educational programming. We strive to fill the gaps within patient communities through education, conference scholarships, financial assistance, and more.

Are your education teachings and sources credible?

We use hand-picked medical professionals for any clinical-related topics that may be covered. We ensure that all of our presenters are certifiable experts on the topics they present on, so you can have real, productive conversations with your doctor about treatment and health options.
