FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Adults ages 18+ living with an active inhibitor that have not successfully (or have only partially) tolerized are encouraged to attend. Because inhibitors have been known to return after just weeks, months, or years after tolerization, those who have tolerized within 5 years will be welcomed, as space allows.  U.S. residents only.  Guests are not permitted.

  • Momentum is designed to create an adapted environment for those with inhibitors, while providing a place to connect with others with similar challenges. A myriad of educational programs are available for those in the hemophilia community not currently managing an active inhibitor. NHF and HFA offer annual meetings and/or tracks, as well as some local chapters. We encourage you to check them out!

  • We will have two highly skilled nurses with multiple years of experience familiar with managing hemophilia with an inhibitor on duty all weekend. Both Gulf States and Texas Children’s HTCs are located on Fannin St in Houston 30 minutes from the airport hotel.

  • We ensure that every location we choose offers accessible accommodations and facilities in compliance with the American's With Disabilities Act. Accessible accommodations include entrances, rooms, meeting areas, and elevators.

  • There are little to no costs associated with attending once the trip is completed. Because of numerous, last-minute cancellations, a fully refundable $50/person deposit is required to attend the program.

Travel related expenses including tolls, mileage, and parking will be reimbursed, with limitations. Air transportation will be arranged for you. Most meals will be provided on site. Learn more on our policies and guidelines page.

  • Your factor/meds and supplies, as there will NOT be any on site. Also bring your enthusiasm and willingness to reach out so we can learn from each other!

  • Information that you share or hear will be treated with the utmost respect and never disclosed without your permission. We want participants to feel comfortable so that we may support one another.

  • CHES Foundation competes rigorously for grants provided by manufacturers to support educational programming. We are an independent chronic disorder education company, unaffiliated with any one entity that provides products to the communities we serve.
