Bleeding Disorder News # 123: Celebrating! InhibitCon with ATS Camp on deck and an upcoming webinar for the VWD community!

CHES Community Newsletter!🩸💜👑
Please join me in congratulating Janet Brewer on her semi-retirement which began April 30, 2026. We will always be grateful for Janet’s vision, dedication, and heart. As the Co-founder/Executive Director, she truly shaped the mission of CHES. Janet has supported countless community members in their health journeys and has been an integral part of the creation and development of CHES’s vision. In her current role as Director Emerita and Strategic Advisor, she will remain available to CHES.

We are excited to announce that Heather E. Case, M.Ed, will be moving into the Executive Director position. Previously, Heather worked in the bleeding disorder space as the Vice President of Education at the Hemophilia Federation of America and as the Program Director/Family Camp Director at New England Hemophilia Association. Heather has been in her current role as Director of Advocacy and Outreach at CHES for two+ years. She is excited to enhance and strengthen CHES Foundation’s foundation (see what we did there?!).

Remaining co-founder Eric Lowe, COO; and current team members, Chris Brewer, Director of Program Development and Social Media; and Joan Ward, Director of Event Management, will all continue as CHES staff. We are committed to supporting our three pillars- women, inhibitor patients, and the ultra-rare community. The CHES team is eager to innovate, engage, and educate our community with your continued support.

Be kind to yourself and one another,
Heather

InhibitCon and Inhibitor Family Camp have merged for 2026
Please join us for InhibitCon in New Orleans, September 10-13, 2026! We will have camp activities on site on Friday during the day. The InhibitCon experience will begin Friday late afternoon. Applications will open in early June.

This is an incredible opportunity to meet other inhibitor families, build community, and learn from the top Subject Matter Experts in the field! Sessions cover Insurance, Physical Therapy, Intimacy, and Current and Emerging Therapies. This is a not to be missed experience!

Travel Fund aka CHES Champions

In 2026, CHES is asking all participants who are financially able to cover the cost of overnight hotel rooms for in-person CHES experiences. We know based on years of feedback that people would like to contribute to further CHES’s vision. CHES Champions is set up for donations of any size. With a little love, we can ensure that all of our community members have equitable access to be seen, heard, and supported.

$50= covers the cost of one breakfast meal for one attendee

$150= covers a portion of our educational costs

$250= covers the cost of a child at a hotel event for a day (food and childcare activities)

$500= covers the cost of lodging for one attendee or one family for an event weekend

Tax deductible donations can be made to the
CHES Champions fund. CHES Champions helps to cover travel costs for our community members who would be unable to attend events without financial assistance.
