Bleeding Disorder News # 117: BIG CHES Changes, LadyBugs Applications and HdS: Sanación y Autocuidado

CHES Community Newsletter!🩸💜👑
2026 has begun and honestly, I’d like to enact a return policy please. Like most non profits, CHES works feverishly behind the scenes all year to build relationships with our funders and to be good stewards of those funds. At the core of our mission is the patient. We take seriously our responsibility to the community. CHES develops and executes fair, balanced, transparent, and thoughtful educational events that provide patients and their families the information, skills, and knowledge they need.

While nearly everyone is SAYING they support women, inhibitors and the ultra-rare community, only a few are actually supporting their words with ACTION. CHES is built on the belief that we support, educate, and provide community connection opportunities to everyone with no financial barriers to attend. CHES has historically covered the costs for all participants for transportation, hotel, and food door to door. Without sufficient funding, CHES must change our model of care. In 2026, CHES is asking all participants who are financially able to cover the cost of overnight hotel rooms for in person CHES experiences.

The past few weeks have shone a light on the relationships we want to see more of, who are building bridges between words and actions, and whose values are aligned with CHES. Those are the relationships we need more of in this community. Those are the relationships we need. Motivated by doing the right thing, not building the bottom line.

CHES’s end goal is patient centered education that offers space for patients to be seen, heard, and supported. The CHES staff and board are actively seeking ways to lower costs without any reduction on the high quality and impact we know we have as a long standing, mission driven, bleeding disorder non profit. While we work through the details to create more robust options for financial support, we are asking you to consider acting now to support CHES.

Here are a few specific actionable ways YOU can help.

  • Be a Bridge between talking about support and offering support and encourage others to do the same.
  • Cover the cost of your hotel at CHES events if you can.

  • Make a donation, and encourage friends, to donate to CHES. Donations will help offset the cost of community members who would be unable to attend without financial support. A nominal, recurring donation has the largest impact.

  • Talk to your local industry rep about the impact of CHES in your life and the importance of funding the underrepresented communities of CHES
  • Amplify CHES events in your social media feeds to spread the word and raise awareness
  • Host a fundraiser and be a CHES Champion. We have put together a media kit and ideas that can get you started!

Be an active participant in the CHES community. Show support. Show up. Give where you can. To quote Mr. Rogers, "Find the helpers."
    Be kind to each other,
    Heather
