FAQs - VIRTUAL FORMAT

Who can attend?

Each program is created for specific diagnosis’ and varies from strict guidelines limiting availability to patients while others may allow for caregivers, family members, and more. Please see details for admission for each program by visiting the program pages.

Select programs offer a hybrid virtual option, which create little to no additional costs to facilitate. For such instances, participants residing outside of the U.S. may also be welcome to join us. Some restrictions may apply. CHES Foundation cannot guarantee free shipping of collaterals, brochures, giveaways, or any other items regularly provided for the conference to non-U.S. residents.

How long do your programs run?

Each meeting will slightly vary, but will last 45-90 minutes unless otherwise stated.

What is the format? And what do I need to participate?

In light of safety precautions set in 2020, select programs will offer a virtual option using the Zoom platform. Participants can connect using the equipment described below as well as the downloadable app, called Zoom. If you prefer not to download the app, connectivity is also available through a web browser on Zoom.us.

Participants should have equipment to meet the technological needs of the program, such as a viewing device (like a desktop computer, laptop, WiFi enabled tablet, or a smartphone), a microphone and camera (if your viewing device is not equipped with one), and an internet connection with minimal speeds of 1.5 Mbps (both up and down.)  There are multiple free websites to check your internet speed.  One example is SpeedTest.net.

How much does it cost to attend?

Virtual programs are entirely free. You should not feel pressured, but donations are greatly appreciated. Funding is drastically changing for programming, so if you are willing and able, any donated amount would be set aside to help preserve the future of our programs.

Attendees outside of the U.S. may be subject to long-distance phone charges if they choose to dial-in by phone rather than connect via internet connection through the Zoom platform.

What about patient confidentiality?

Information that you share or hear will be treated with the utmost respect and never disclosed without your permission.  We want participants to feel comfortable so that we may support one another. All participants 18 and older are required to electronically sign a confidentiality agreement. See complete confidentiality agreement.

How does CHES Foundation fund programming?

CHES competes rigorously for grants provided by manufacturers to support educational programming. We are a 501(c)3 who strives to fill the gaps within patient communities through education, conference scholarships, financial assistance, and more.

Are your education teachings and sources credible?

We use hand-picked medical professionals for any clinically-related topics that may be covered.  We ensure that all of our presenters are certifiable experts on the topics they present on, so you can have real, productive conversations with your doctor about treatment and health options.
