Bleeding Disorder News # 107: BFFF is Back! Immune thrombocytopenia and Heavy Menstrual Bleeding 101

Hi,
School is back in session! The CHES team is working hard on our final two events of 2025 plus sketching out our plans for 2026! Each of us is trying to be a good octopus - spinning multiple plates as we seek to be good stewards of our funding and champions for those with an inhibitor, ultra-rares, and women in the community.

CHES has had a very successful and busy 2025, in large part due to YOU! Your ongoing dedication to the underserved communities of inhibitors, ultra-rares and women has not gone unnoticed. With your support, we were able to provide support, education and connection at multiple in person events. We are grateful for your commitment to the CHES vision.

Giving Tuesday is still a few weeks away but as a lean and mean staff team, we fundraise year-round. ALL CHES events are of NO COST to individuals and families. Any amount helps us to offset expenses and keep us true to our value of not allowing finances be a barrier to participation in CHES events. Please consider a
donation to enhance CHES efforts in 2026.

Best,
Heather E. Case, M.Ed.
Director of Advocacy and Outreach

By Females for Females- BFF
Join CHES's fall virtual By Females for Females (BFF) session! This discussion is open to females ages 19+ who are diagnosed with a bleeding disorder of any kind or seeking diagnosis. It is a safe, inclusive and engaging place to share concerns, questions, and experiences.

This month’s topic is "Exploration and Preparation". The aim is to take space and make space regarding preparation for clinical visits, exploration of what a diagnosis means to you, and how we can best support each other in this bleeding disorder journey. We will be joined by Dr. Joanna Davis, esteemed hematologist and CHES Board Member, who will share what testing women might suggest or advocate for to obtain an accurate diagnosis.
